LAURENTIAN HILLS – Highway 17 has been reopened between Deep River and Chalk River following a serious two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning.
Highway 17 is closed while technical collision investigation members investigate the scene of a two-vehicle collision that occurred this morning about 8 a.m. between Chalk River and Deep River.

The collision occurred near Miller Road around 8 a.m. Two people involved in the collision were transported to hospital by the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service with one suffering from life-threatening injuries.The highway reopened around 4 p.m. after being closed for eight hours as the investigation into the cause of the crash continued. OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members were on scene to assist with the investigation. Local detours were in place via Main Street and Wylie Road.
