High winds have been forecast for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.Environment Canada issued a special weather statement at 4 p.m., warning wind gusts up to 80 km/hr. were expected to development overnight Sunday.Vancouver, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack were among the areas to be impacted.The predicted heavy winds were due to a cold air mass spreading throughout the B.C. Interior that will arrive in Metro Vancouver Sunday night.The outflow winds will come from the east and northeast and will strengthen by Monday morning.The plume of winds will extend from the Chilliwack and Abbotsford area through southern Langley and across the Strait of Georgia to affect the southernmost Gulf Islands and Victoria.Winds will diminish slightly by Monday afternoon, but remain brisk through Tuesday morning.The special weather statement is firstname.lastname@example.org/davidcarrigg
