Colorado’s average price per gallon of gas is $2.14, which is lower than 42 other states, according to AAA Colorado.
That price is up 7 cents compared to this time last week for the state and has risen 6 cents from the start of February. Nationally, the price of gas is $2.39, up 8 cents from last week and 12 cents compared to January.
“All told, gas prices are 11 percent cheaper than where they were for the first two months of 2018, in large part thanks to cheaper crude oil prices so far this year,” said AAA Colorado spokesman Skyler McKinley in a news release. “And, while pump prices are on the rise, decreasing demand has countered the price increase – so we’re all still enjoying relatively cheap gas.”
The nation’s historic high was $4.09 per gallon on July 17, 2008.
