Horacio Galanti was announced as city manager in Grande Prairie on Monday night.

The City of Grande Prairie announced the appointment of Horacio Galanti, P.Eng, as city manager Monday night. Galanti is a civil engineer who served previously as director of Infrastructure and Protective Services from 2013 to 2018.“Council has been committed to conducting a competitive process that would identify the most qualified candidate possible to lead the city administration,” said Mayor Given in a statement. “Horacio’s experience as the city’s director of Infrastructure and Protective Services and his experience in both the private and municipal sector in three countries has given council the confidence in his ability to lead our organization.”The competitive search for a new city manager began following Robert “Bob” Nicolay’s departure from the role in the fall. Nicolay moved to Medicine Hat to work as chief administrative officer for the municipality.
