Montreal police are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting death Wednesday night of a 42-year-old man.The incident occurred at 10 p.m. in a residence on Egan St. in the borough of Verdun and police were called to the scene after receiving reports that gunfire had been heard in the residence.Once at the scene, police found the victim as well as a woman who apparently was present when the shooting occurred. Investigators are trying to determine whether the shooting was a deliberate act on the part of the victim or whether it occurred accidentally.Police said Thursday morning that all possibilities, as well as the victim’s conduct over the past few days, are being examined and are awaiting the results of an autopsy to further their investigation.The woman found at the scene is being questioned by investigators.
