Northeast Division lays 31 charges related to drug investigation
City police seized three guns, meth and fentanyl after a six-month investigation in northeast Edmonton.The case culminated with the execution of search warrants at three Edmonton locations, with three firearms, replica handguns, ammunition, $3,300 in cash, 26.5 grams of methamphetamine and 7.8 grams of fentanyl seized.Three people have been arrested.“This successful conclusion was the result of excellent teamwork between a number of specialized units across the EPS,” Sgt. Daniel Tames, with northeast Edmonton beat police, said in a Friday release.“We’re pleased that our team was able to make these arrests and remove firearms, ammunition and a quantity of drugs from our community last week.”

Kenneth Saunders, 35, was arrested on Tuesday. He faces 18 charges, including trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of crime and 13 firearms related offences.Corey Landry, 30, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 14, and faces 10 charges, including two counts of trafficking, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and multiple breaches.Monique Gardner, 40, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 14, and charged with trafficking and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
