Duration unknown. Access for local traffic maintained. #otttraffic— Ottawa_Traffic (@Ottawa_Traffic) March 1, 2019Regarding the Holland Avenue fire, it’s an apt time for a reminder: Please, please, please leave enough room for emergency-vehicles when parking on ice and snowfilled city streets. In an emergency, “every second counts!” the city’s bylaw department warned earlier this week.If that doesn’t move motorists, they’re also risking finding their vehicle has vanished because “even if legally parked, vehicles that are obstructing traffic may be ticketed and towed.”Ottawa police reported a good haul on a RIDE program overnight, with a variety of offences (but apparently no impaired charges, which is good news.)If you were following me this evening we were out on a blitz and a RIDE program.Vehicles checked 725Suspended Drivers 3Equipment and paperwork charges 22Expired Validation Stickers 32Unlicensed Driver 4Careless Driving 1Cell Phone Charge 3#ottnews— Sgt Mark Gatien (@gatienmc) March 1, 2019 ICYMI | A fire has closed Holland Avenue in both directions from Spencer Street to Wellington Street.
