Bonnyville RCMP arrested two people after a police vehicle was rammed by a truck last Wednesday.Police responded to calls of a break and enter in the community’s north end after a business owner suffered minor injuries from being hit by a U-haul truck, police said in a news release Friday.Police found the truck on Highway 28 and began a high-speed pursuit.“The truck came to a stop near the Village of Glendon where the suspect driver then reversed into the police cruiser that was pursuing it. A passenger jumped out of the truck and was arrested without incident,” said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Ronald Rumbry, in the release.The driver of the vehicle was arrested a short time later after he drove the truck into a ditch.Christian Lee Bubar, 32, is facing a number of charges including:break and enter, assault with a weapon, assaulting a police officer with weapon, failure to comply, failure to comply with recognizance, failure to attend court, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police. Kaylin Desmarais, 26, faces the following charges:Break and enter, Assault with a weapon, Assaulting a police officer with a weapon, Failure to comply with a recognizance. Bonnyville is approximately 244 km northeast of Edmonton.
