Edmonton Fire Rescue Services is battling a grass fire in the river valley in the city’s west end.Crews received a call about the fire at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday about a fire close to the North Saskatchewan River near the Edmonton Country Club.Fire rescue spokeswoman Claire Graff said motorists passing by on Whitemud Drive reported the fire.Five units arrived on scene minutes later and are working to keep the fire under control.Graff added due to limited access to hydrants in the valley, smaller water pump trucks have been brought in.
