Multiple motorists were charged with impaired driving for alleged incidents in Perth County, the OPP said Monday.Police charged a 56-years-old St. Marys man after a car went into a ditch on Elginfield Road near Perth Road 123 shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A witness saw the incident, police said.Elsewhere, police said a witness saw a car swerving in its lane and it narrowly avoided a head-on collision on Road 107 in Perth East. Police arrested a 26-year-old Blandford-Blenheim woman and charged her after the alleged incident shortly before 9:30 p.m. this past Friday.Finally, police said a witness called them after seeing a pickup truck driving erratically and squealing its tires in Perth East around 8 p.m. this past Thursday. A 24-year-old Perth East man was charged.All three motorists have court dates in Stratford in early May.Pickup truck hits trainA 65-year-old West Perth man was charged with a driving infraction after his pickup truck collided with a slow-moving train near Mitchell. Police said the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. last week on Road 160. The pickup was traveling south on Road 160 and the train east, police said.The man suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, police said.Alarm tripped at LDSSPerth County OPP said an unknown suspect or suspects tripped an alarm inside Listowel District secondary school around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
