Vivo Ristorante, a west-end staple since 2011, has expanded, launching a new outlet at Currents of Windermere on May 1 (6004 Currents Dr.)Vivo head chef Medi Tabtoub will be at the helm of the new kitchen, bringing a variety of Italian menu items to suburban residents, including Plates for One, plus starters, salads, great pastas, pizzas, and paninis.Chef Medi moved from Paris, France, to Edmonton in 2016, bringing with him an international outlook and passionate love of cooking that has seen him compete in two, prestigious food competitions in Edmonton – Gold Medal Plates in 2017, and Canada’s Great Kitchen Party in 2018, where he placed fourth.The Vivo Ristorante at Currents of Windermere will offer happy-hour pricing Tuesday through Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Monday, there is an all-day happy hour, with special menu pricing and drink specials from 11 a.m. to midnight. Wine Wednesday sees an all-day-long, half-price special on all bottles of wine.Vivo also has a restaurant in Sherwood Park at 550 Baseline Road.
