Maddie StorvoldThe 2019 Interlude lineup will feature Edmonton’s-own alt-country newcomer Maddie Storvold, who recently won CTV’s The Launch, and her single, “Don’t Say You Love Me,” hit no. 1 on the iTunes Canadian country charts.The young songwriter released her second LP, Freedom, Books, Flowers and the Moon in December 2018.Marlaena MooreAlso added to the stage is dream pop web-spinner, Marlaena Moore.Drawing heavily from personal experience to fuel her lyric-centric songs, the buttery soft Beginner (2014) and gauzy-grunge GAZE (2016), Edmonton’s Marlaena Moore refers to herself as a “sensitive musician” and cites The Beatles’ White Album as her favourite record.

Sebastian GaskinFrom Winnipeg, comes Sebastian Gaskin.Sebastian Gaskin is an R&B singer/songwriter and guitarist based in Winnipeg, Canada. His first single, “6AM,” hit #1 on the National Indigenous Countdown, and he won the 2018 Indigenous Music Award for Most Outstanding Manitoban.Gaskin creates music for your late nights and early mornings with reverb-soaked soundscapes, heart-thumping bass and melancholic melodies.

Richard InmanWinnipeg’s Richard Inman’s soulful acoustic folk and blues is a welcome addition to this year’s festival.Inman is quickly becoming a staple of his hometown’s folk and country scene. With a rich baritone voice and delicate musical touch, he crafts mature songs that feel at once deeply familiar and bracingly fresh.

James BaleyInterstellar is also excited to showcase two of the Toronto underground’s finest in James Baley. Baley, one of the most magnetic and in-demand singers and dancers, and frequent member of Zaki Ibrahim’s band, will also perform a solo set.Unapologetically personal, Toronto’s James Baley is a magnetic performer. His debut LISTEN (2015) touched on gospel fused with trap beats amidst lush instrumental layering.His latest release, 2017’s ROADS is an experimental dream, sensually infusing pop songs with soul that transports the listener through dreams, moments, and memories.

NyssaAlso from Toronto, Nyssa, a ferociously talented performer, is a one-woman synth-glam-rock-punk force of nature.Writing and performing music since she was 15, Toronto based Nyssa is a one woman show, captivating audiences with her gender-genre-crossing and fierce vocals, flowing from punk to glam-pop to flat out rockers.This is her first appearance at Interstellar Rodeo.
