A Creston man has been arrested and charged in connection with the 2015 murder of Katherine McAdam.The RCMP’s Southeast District major crime detectives have been searching for a killer ever since McAdam’s body was discovered in Erickson, a small farming community just east of Creston.The 58-year-old woman had been the subject of a missing-person investigation.On Friday, police arrested Nathaniel Jessup, who has been charged with second-degree murder and offering an indignity to a body.The 32-year-old man was already facing an another murder charged in connection with the death of his cellmate at Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre. Dylan Levi Judd, 20, was found dead in his cell at KRCC on Nov. 10, 2014. Jessup was charged in February with second degree murder.The RCMP described Jessup and McAdam as “casual acquaintances.”Jessup has a long criminal history that includes convictions for property crimes, weapons offences and assaulting a peace officer.The RCMP say he has been in custody on unrelated matters since shortly after McAdam’s murder.“We have worked hard to get to this point, but we recognize that the work is not over as we prepare now for the court process,” said Southeast District RCMP Sgt. Steven Rigby. “Our thoughts are with Katherine’s friends and family, as they too prepare themselves for court proceedings.”Jessup is due to appear in provincial court in Creston on June 13.
