Ottawa police officers were forced to call for help from the fire department Monday evening when a person was partly trapped after a vehicle crashed through a Beacon Hill home.The vehicle came to rest halfway through a bay window, with the driver still inside. The driver was not injured.Fire officials said calls reporting the crash at 650 Ingram Cres. came in around 7:58 p.m.Firefighters found the car, which had plowed through the garage and the family’s home, into the family room.Part of the vehicle was resting on a couch. A person, who was in the family room at the time of the crash, became partly trapped by the vehicle.Firefighters were required to stabilize the vehicle, to ensure it wouldn’t shift while it was being lifted.They then lifted the vehicle with jacks and the person was able to wiggle free with minor injuries. They were taken to an Ottawa hospital with minor injuries.A police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
