The Cal-bound MVP of the West Catholic Athletic League tossed six shutout innings of one-hit ball with eight strikeouts in a 4-0 win over Palo Alto in the CCS Open Division quarterfinals, then five days later tossed four no-hit innings with six strikeouts in a combined no-hitter against Archbishop Mitty, helping his own cause with a two-run double for the only scoring in the 2-0 title game at Excite Ballpark, formerly known as San Jose Municipal Stadium, as the Warriors completed a rare 3-peat in the CCS playoffs.
Jazlynn Shearer, Silver Creek
Sport: Track and field
Events: Long jump, triple jump, 100 hurdles
The UNLV-bound standout as the runner-up in the overall team standings by herself at the CIF state track and field championships in Clovis after winning a pair of individual events, including running the fastest time in the nation this spring in the girls 100-meter hurdles in a wind-aided 13.24 seconds. She won the triple jump by nearly a foot with a wind-aided leap of 41 feet, 1 inch, and finished second in the long jump with another PR (19-10 3/4).

Kyle Harrison, De La Salle
Position: Pitcher/first baseman
The UCLA commit starred both on the mound and at the plate in the North Coast Section Division I championship game. He drove in three runs with a two-run double and an single, and allowed only one run and struck out 10 batters in 5 1/3 innings pitching in the Spartans’ 10-1 victory over Heritage at Diablo Valley College.
Nicole May, Foothill
Position: Pitcher/third baseman/first baseman
The Oklahoma commit not only pitched a one-hitter and struck out 13 batters in the NCS Division I championship game, she also provided all of the game’s runs. May slammed a two-run home run in a 2-0 victory over Heritage to complete a perfect 28-0 season.
