TEMECULA — A 21-year-old Temecula man was arrested on suspicion of committing armed robberies in Temecula and Menifee, authorities said Tuesday.
Deputies responded to a call of an armed robbery in the 31900 block of Rancho California Road in Temecula about 12:15 a.m. Monday, but the suspect had left the scene before their arrival, according to Sgt. Russell Hilton of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
A short time later, a suspect matching the same description committed another armed robbery in Menifee, Hilton said.
An investigation led deputies to arrest Joshua Phillips, who was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on multiple charges including robbery and possession of a stolen firearm, Hilton said. The time and location where Phillips was taken into custody were not disclosed.
Anyone with information about the robberies was asked to call Investigator Marquez at the sheriff’s Temecula Station at 951-696-3000.
