It’s not your imagination. There really have been a lot of days like this.

If you feel like your sun-starved body is working overtime to absorb some Vitamin D before the rain starts again, we’re here to tell you you’re not alone. When light broke through the clouds Thursday, it was the first time in more than two weeks Montreal didn’t see rain. That’s a record-breaker, according to statistics compiled by weather historian Rolf Campbell. It rained on the island of Montreal every day for 16 days, the longest stretch recorded. After a lovely Thursday, there was a smattering of rainfall just after midnight Friday. Thanks to that hour of rain while most of us were sleeping, we’re in a two-way tie with 1945 for rainiest May.Yet the past is in the past. Let it go. We’re just a few hours from June, which will greet us with a double-cheek kiss of sunshine and a high of 21 degrees Celsius. Then we’ll have two more days of rain.
