When the Warriors try to even up the NBA Finals on Sunday they’ll have to do it without Kevin Durant, who was officially, and unsurprisingly, declared out for Game 2 by Steve Kerr on Friday.
Steve Kerr said Kevin Durant’s availability will have nothing to do Warriors with trailing, 1-0. When KD is healthy and ready to go, he’ll play. Warriors won’t rush him back pic.twitter.com/0XlgK9pm7E

The Warriors coach confirmed that Durant’s recovery from a strained right calf still isn’t near where he needs to be in order to return.
Durant has missed the last six Warriors playoff games since suffering the injury against the Rockets in the Western Conference Finals.
Golden State had won its last five games without Durant before getting derailed by the Raptors and losing 118-109 in Game 1 on Thursday night.
There is still hope Durant can play at some point once the series comes to Oakland next week for Games 3 and 4.
