A “drug pipeline” between B.C. and Alberta has been crushed after a two-year probe by the joint crime fighting team based out of Edmonton.More than $2 million in drugs and cash has been seized and a dozen suspects have been arrested, said the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) in a Wednesday release.Project Elder, an ALERT Edmonton investigation, probed interprovincial, wholesale drug distribution.A high volume of drugs were being shipped to Alberta involving a complex scheme that included vehicles equipped with hidden compartments, say investigators.Full details will be provided at a 1 p.m. ALERT news conference in Edmonton.
