A police officer was injured and lost consciousness while chasing a suspect overnight in Quebec City.At 1:40 a.m. a patrol officer heard tires screeching from a car in a residential area, at the intersection of de la Ronde Ave. and 18th St. He pursued the driver, according to the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ). The suspect turned the car around and hit the patrol vehicle, at which point a foot chase broke out.The officer suffered an injury to the face and lost consciousness during the chase. He now has a concussion.SPVQ officers found the suspect hiding under a balcony. The 21-year-old man, who is known to police, was arrested on charges including a hit and run, stealing a vehicle and denying a breathalyzer test.The SPVQ is investigating whether the officer’s injuries were intentionally inflicted or accidental. They say the officer doesn’t remember what happened.Related
