An Ontario-based restauranteur said it will open four new eateries in an Ice District hotel on Aug. 1.Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality will run all four restaurants in the Marriott hotel, also set to open in August next to the Rogers Place arena in downtown Edmonton.In a Wednesday press release, the company said its offerings will include Kindred Food + Drink, a casual, all-day restaurant serving sandwiches, soup, meat and fish prepared in a California-style kitchen. The main-floor spot will feature 30-foot ceilings and a patio.For something meatier, there will also be Braven, which will feature dry-aged steaks and fresh seafood. Also on the hotel’s main floor, the restaurant will have three private dining rooms available for parties and group gatherings.The company will also run Lobby Bar, featuring plush furniture and a “gleaming marble bar,” according to the press release.On the hotel’s fifth floor will be a cocktail bar and lounge called Alchemy, which includes a large patio overlooking downtown’s Ice District.The eateries will be Oliver and Bonacini’s first operations in Edmonton. The firm runs several restaurants in Ontario, as well as The Guild and Buffo in Calgary and Shift at the Remai Modern art gallery in Saskatoon.Co-founder and chef Michael Bonacini is a judge on CTV show MasterChef Canada.firstname.lastname@example.org
