If you’re planning to head to Diefenbaker Park to watch the Canada Day fireworks show Monday evening, here are a few tips:The fireworks start at around 10:40 p.m. (dusk) and the event will end at 11 p.m. The fireworks will be set off from on top of the hill, since parts of the park are fenced off due to construction. The organizers recommend getting to the park at 10:15 p.m., but Canada Day festivities start at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast and there’s a celebratory cake in the late morning. If you take your car to the park, it’ll cost $10 to park your vehicle at Prairieland Park. If you take the bus, it’ll be free to ride home after 10:15 p.m. Buses to the park will be running on a holiday schedule. There’s also free bike valet service for cyclists. The Optimist Club has created an exit strategy map, however, which is available on the event website.
