One person died and several others were injured in a vehicle and pedestrian crash Saturday night outside the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora, according to Aurora police.
Emergency responders received several calls about the crash at about 11:44 p.m. at 6700 N. Gaylord Rockies Boulevard. One person was declared dead at the scene while others were taken to a local hospital for treatment, Aurora police said in a release.
The driver of the vehicle that collided with the pedestrians fled the scene, according to police, and his car was located several miles away with no one in it, according to police.

A juvenile male was later taken into custody and police believe he was the driver of the vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing and charges have not been formally filed.
Aurora police did not release the names of those involved or more details about the crash.
