Weather: If you were hoping to get by this weekend without carrying an umbrella, you’re out of luck, according to Environment Canada.On Friday, there’s a risk of thunderstorms starting at about 4 p.m. with a high of 30 Celsius.On Saturday, there’s also a risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon with a 30 per cent chance of rain.On Sunday, perfect patio weather is expected — a high of 27 C and a low of 16 C is in the forecast.On Canada Day, there’s a 30 per cent chance of rain with a high of 29 C predicted.What’s open Canada Day: Eaton Centre (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Vaughan Mills (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), and Square One Shopping Centre (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) CN Tower (9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.), Art Gallery of Ontario (10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Casa Loma (9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.).What’s closed Canada Day: LCBO outlets, Beer Stores, banks, government offices, post offices and Toronto Public Library branches.Canada Day fireworksAt Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan, fireworks start at about 10 p.m. with more than 6,000 explosions expected for 15 minutes.The Mel Lastman Square in North York will be hosting a Canada Day celebration starting at 4 p.m., with a five-minute firework display expected at 10:15 p.m.Downsview Park will host a family-friendly event with free inflatables, games for children, face painters, live entertainment and food trucks starting at 4 p.m. Fireworks cap off the night at around 11 p.m.Centennial Park will host live entertainment and activities for families starting at 4 p.m., with a firework display around 10 p.m. Amesbury Park will start the day’s celebrations early at around 9 a.m., with fireworks expected around 10 p.m. Transit: TTC will be operating on a holiday schedule on Canada Day with subway service starting at 6 a.m.GO Transit will be operating on a Saturday schedule on the holiday, and commuters are advised to check the posted schedules before your trip.
