Quebec’s Croix Rouge has announced new aid relief for victims of the spring flooding in the Outaouais.In a release, the agency said eligible registered families will receive $600 in financial assistance by electronic transfer. More than 50 families are still sheltered by the Croix Rouge in the Outaouais.Homeowners will be able to receive up to $1,200 to cover their “essential needs, construction materials and furniture replacement through the recovery assistance program.”In addition, any eligible person may receive up to $750 in professional mental health support and $700 in exceptional humanitarian assistance.The Croix Rouge says in the release it will continue to support projects to help communities in their recovery and organizations reorganize their activities, according to a press release issued by the organization on Thursday.Contact the Croix Rouge at 1-800-863-6582 or visit their offices at 28 Mont Bleu Blvd. in Gatineau.
