Quebec City police is looking for a 48-year-old who threatened to blow himself up in public on Friday night.On Friday night, investigators from the Quebec City police received information about a 48-year-old man who made threatening remarks saying he was going to blow himself up in public and that he was in possession of an object that looked like a grenade.Details about where the incident happened and the circumstances under which it happened have yet to be revealed by police as there is an ongoing investigation.The serious crime unit investigators obtained judicial authorizations to search the suspect’s residence located in the Saint-Sauveur sector of Quebec City.A search of his residence was conducted in the evening in collaboration with a tactical intervention team and explosive technicians specialized from the Sûreté du Québec. A harmless dummy grenade was found and seized.The 48-year-old has yet to be arrested. Investigators are trying to locate and arrest him. The suspect is known to have problems related to a neurological disorder.Quebec City police says they take threats seriously and that we will deploy the necessary resources to ensure the safety of citizens.
