Three men and two women face a combined total of nearly 80 charges in a stolen vehicle pursuit which resulted in the seizure of numerous weapons in Saskatoon early Monday morning.It began when a Saskatoon police officer on patrol saw a stolen Buick Regal at Avenue D and 23rd Street West at about 3:30 a.m. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not stop, police said in a media release.The Air Support Unit located the vehicle and saw it stop on Avenue R North, where a passenger got out of the vehicle and threw items over a fence, police said.According to police, the driver continued to the 2500 block of 33rd Street West, where two more passengers got out of the vehicle. The driver continued to Wedge Road and 33rd Street, where officers attempted to stop it. The driver did not stop, but police used a tire deflation device. The driver continued on outside city limits until officers forced the vehicle into a ditch.Police took five people into custody. They seized loaded firearms, knives, hatchets bear mace, ammunition, cellphones and drug paraphernalia.Three men, 27, 26 and 25 and two women, 36 and 22, face charges including evade police, dangerous driving and fire-arms related charges.
