This summer has seen an increase in drownings according to a report by the Société de sauvetage du Québec.
The Sureté du Québec confirmed Sunday that James Duggan, 67, was aboard the float plane that went down near Lac Boulène, southeast of Chibougamau, which is about 500 kilometres north of Montreal.

An 82-year-old man who drowned in a family pool on Saturday in Hemmingford, a village municipality about 70 kilometres south of Montreal, has been identified as Mohamed Osman.The Sûreté du Québec arrived at a residence on Fisher Rd. on Saturday at 4 p.m. after a relative found his lifeless body floating in the pool. Osman was transported to hospital, where his death was confirmed.An autopsy will be performed and a police investigation is under way to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.According to a report by the Société de sauvetage du Québec, this summer has been marked by a significant increase over the same period last year in the number of drowning accidents.Related
