A 35-year-old man shot in Richmond Monday night is an associate of the Wolf Pack gang coalition, Postmedia has learned.Robert Kinnear was wounded just before 10:20 p.m. in the the 6500-block of No. 3 Road.The RCMP said in that a number of calls came from people in the busy area. Kinnear was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.“Witnesses at the scene reported a two-door, silver sedan had been seen driving by and shots being fired by someone inside this vehicle. “The driver then fled the scene,” Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet told reporters.Just after 11:20 p.m., Vancouver Police were called to the 2100-block of Newport Avenue where officers found a vehicle on fire that matched the suspect vehicle from the Richmond shooting.“The Richmond Serious Crime Unit, which is leading the investigation, is working closely with the Vancouver Police Department to determine possible links,” Shoihet said.Richmond RCMP Insp.Keith Bramhill said the shooting is believed to be targeted.“We understand this is unsettling for the entire community and want to assure our residents that at this time, our investigators have reason to believe that the victim, who is known to us, was targeted,” he said.“We are asking anyone who may have been a witness or may have been driving in the area and have dash-cam video toplease call us.”I AM AWAY FOR A FEW DAYS SO CLOSING COMMENTS TILL MONDAY.
