A 19-year-old man taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash east of Stratford has been charged, Perth County OPP said Tuesday.A driver from Kirkfield, whose status has since been upgraded to stable, was behind the wheel one of the two SUVS that collided near Shakespeare. Police say Ryan Makimoto was charged with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway and was issued a provincial offence notice.The crash took place around 10:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Perth Road 107 and Line 37 in Perth East. Makimoto was driving east on Line 37 when he collided with another SUV heading north on Road 107, police said.A 36-year-old woman driving the other vehicle was also taken to local hospital with minor injuries. Police did not publish her name.Police, paramedics and firefighters responded to the incident. Police temporarily closed roads in the area.
