SAN JOSE – A man who died after being hit by a passing car on Highway 237 last month has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office as Kyle Trevon Williams-Dugan, 27, of Oakland.
Williams-Dugan and three other men were in a vehicle that stopped on the eastbound shoulder of the freeway near Zanker Road about 3:40 a.m. July 28, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said Williams-Dugan and another man then got out of the car.
“One of them (Williams-Dugan), for an unknown reason, moved into the traffic lanes and was hit by a passing vehicle,” CHP Officer Ross Lee told this news organization the morning of the crash.
Williams-Dugan was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The crash remains under investigation.
