Approximately 10,000 fans attended the 2019 Animethon 26 Convention in Edmonton on Friday August 9, 2019. The 3-day Japanese Animation (anime) themed festival held annually in Edmonton includes gaming, costume contests, voice actors, musical acts and improvisation groups from all over North America and Japan. Started in 1994, Canada’s longest-running anime convention is held August 9-11, 2019 at the Edmonton Convention Centre.
